Newsletter #1 2009-2010
Welcome back to class and welcome to the new students and staff!!
Hope you all are having a wonderful summer!! Congratulations to all the students, staff and volunteers for an awesome recital last May. I hope you all are rested and ready to begin another great year!
I could not be more pleased with our staff this year. We have a very talented and ___ group of teachers this year! Our students are fortunate to have this level of dance teachers instructing at the Academy this year. Please take time to read the insert abour our staff.
New Classes
The Academy is offering two new adult classes this year. These classes can be taken session by session. Please call or e-mail the Academy to register. (Space is limited)
Zumba
Zumba fuses hypnotic latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away. Our goal is simple: We want you to want to work out, to love working out, to get hooked. Zumba® Fanatics achieve long term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exhilarating hour of caloric-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life!
The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms, and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got Zumba!
Yoga
Practicing Yoga is a great way to increase overall strength and flexibilty, work with the mobility of specific joints and find a healthy alignment. We use breath and "flow" to get the circulation going and the energy up and "postures" to tone and shape the muscles. Breathing with the movement helps us find calm that carries with you long after the hour. Each class ends with deep relaxation. Dancers will be able to work specifically on improving certain areas of their physical ability. All ages and abilities will benefit.
